Privacy Policy
This policy explains what Alteyr collects when you run or take an engineering interview, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We collect only what a coding interview needs to work.

1. Information we collect
Account information for teams: name, work email, organisation, and the settings used to configure interviews.
Interview information for candidates: the invitation details a team provides, the code written during a session, interactions with the AI agent, and technical activity such as which files were opened and when the session started and ended.
Technical information: basic device and browser data and diagnostic logs needed to keep sessions stable and secure.
2. How we use information
We use it to run interviews, to make a candidate’s session available to the team for review, to keep the platform secure, and to improve how the product works.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use the code a candidate writes to train foundation models.
3. The AI agent and third parties
The AI agent is powered by third-party model providers. Prompts and code shared with the agent during a session are sent to those providers solely to generate responses, under agreements that prohibit using that content to train their models.
We use a small number of processors for hosting, error monitoring, and email. Each handles data only on our instructions.
4. Who sees a candidate’s session
A candidate’s session including the code they wrote and their activity is shared with the team that invited them, so the interview can be reviewed. It is not shared with other teams or made public by us.
5. Retention
We keep interview data for as long as the team that ran the interview needs it for its hiring process, and then delete or anonymise it in line with the team’s configured retention. Account information is kept while the account is active.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information. Candidates can ask the team that ran their interview, or contact us directly and we will route the request appropriately.
7. Security
Interview sessions run in isolated sandboxes, data is encrypted in transit, and access to session data is limited to the team that owns it. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data and to respond quickly if something goes wrong.
8. Changes to this policy
We will update this policy as the product changes and revise the effective date above. Material changes will be communicated to teams through the account.
